97 last Saturday with a touch of humidity not Florida standards by any means but you could see it hanging. The week leading up to then we struggled to get over 55 with nightime lows near freezing\frost tempatures.

It was 90 today but it didn't feel to bad because the humidity was only 59%.
I'm a little north of you in Las Vegas. Same business, 111 today. I drank near on three gallons of water while emptying out a storage locker and peed exactly once!

I won't rub it in how pleasant its been here yesterday and today. But then again, you all are "paying" for it now while we "pay for it" in Dec., January, and Feb. The flip side of the coin...

I have tourists and the plague of tourons that tend to follow along. I wish my only complaint was the heat.
It's amazing how many people buy cars these days that lack turn signals. I also found it astounding how many folks have trouble saying things like..Thank you, please, or excuse me. I mean wow...I must be an expert with languages, as I can say them just fine, an even know when to say them! Perhaps they need a Rosetta stone for such hard words.
Don't trouble yourselves trying to explain it all to me, for I'll never be able to understand such things. Who buys a car without turn signals? Who knew thank you was such a complicated word for my fellow Americans. Gah!

I've only been to Yellowstone NP once, for work. On a second pass, we stopped at Old Faithful and decided to watch the show. We didn't know there were multiple shows going on. I guess they have a video stream of the geyser area where people can log on and watch. Some old gals from OK (I have nothing against people from Oklahoma but the drawl added to this story) where trying to wave to one of their friends who was watching on the live stream. The only downside was that the live stream had about a minute delay between real events and when they showed up on the screen. The one ole gal was determined to have her friend see her, and by the end, was flapping her arms like some old gray-haired Big Bird. She might have had a drink on board as well or not all the synapses were firing. Anyway, we were almost doubled-over sitting on our logs trying not to fully bust a gut. I think we actually moved to get away from the mad flapper. Probably not in the same league as rude, clueless people on the sandbar but certainly was up there on its own.
To top off my trip, we finally saw some elk along the Madison River heading out of the park. I had been hoping to see some elk but we had been under impressed by many bison encounters. Finally saw a couple of cows and their calves across the river less than 200 yards away. About 5 cars had stopped on the side of the road. While I was there, this nice guy who looked like he was his his family, asked me "what are those animals over there". I wanted to ask him if he had never watched something like National Geographic channel or an outdoors hunting show but I held by tongue and politely answered hm. Maybe it made his family's day, I can only hope I did nice...

I saw some Elk on the AZ NM border they are huge! A good tourist story for me. I worked at Canyon Ranch when I was 19 and a lady from New York had a lizard in her room. I went to get it out. She was scared to death of it. I chased the lizard all over the hotel room and after I caught it I was going to joke that it was poisonous but did not. I chased that lizard for like 20 minutes. When I let it go outside on the grass in front of the hotel room I saw a shadow and a big bird came down and took it away! LOL

You should be in downtown Nashville during the CMA music festival and CMA music awards. The shops sell the heck out of cowboy hats and boots and what I find amusing is most people that live in Nashville never wear them.
Most of the tourist are very friendly though.

Well there is a difference between a tourist, which I of course love, and a touron, which I highly dislike if you couldn't tell.
Tourists will treat the place their visiting with respect, or like it was their home. Tourons like to ask you dumb questions(see prior post), are rude to everyone..from local to tourist, they also have an entitled feel to them. They trash the places they visit by leaving trash all over, an then act like one should drop everything their doing an serve them. Yea...no, thank you. I may just be strange, but when I visit somewhere I try to enjoy the place an then also leave them a good impression of me, an where I'm from. Weird I know. WTF am I thinking.
I tell you I'm quite thankful I don't rely on the tourism here for my living. I'd be in a loony bin by now if so. With all that *****ing aside...80% of the people who come an visit my little sandbar are nice folks. It's that other 20 percent that reminds me of why the hell I moved far less populated place. LOL.
So remember good people. Be a tourist, an remembered fondly. Not a touron and cursed daily.
