What do you have to pay for each battery in your part of the U.S.?

I would suggest trying to cover cover the batteries up with a tarp, it's illegal to haul 10 or more batteries without proper paperwork, etc. as far I as I know.

I've not been able to find anything that says how much you can haul. The only thing that I have ever found, says that because the EPA wants batteries to be recycled, the rules are a lot more relaxed. I have seen it refered to as " loose scrap", after you put them on a pallet and shrink wrap them, they become hazardous waste, and then it is a different game. Any information that anyone can provide that is more than hearsay, would be very much appreciated.

I usually pay $5 for car batteries. Sometimes I don't pay at all.

Patriot, I am a sometimes scrapper. I always do the battery thing, no matter what else I am doing. I am always on the lookout for scrap, but due to the distance to scrapyards, sometimes steel won't even pay for fuel. I do whatever it takes to pay the bills. As far as posting pictures goes, I posted them directly from my computer, I just add the attachments when I am posting.

No, you need to scroll down below where you write the text and you will see where it says " manage attachments" click on that, and it will take you to where you can add pictures from your computer. I hope this helps. There are probably several guys on here that can explain it better than I can. I do a lot of trial and error.

This is what was left after cleaning up all of the aluminum pipe. I went and finished this today. I will just stockpile until it becomes worth it to haul to the yard.

I got this swather for hauling it off. It wasn't easy to get it loaded, but I sold it for parts to another rancher. Nice paycheck for a days work.

I don't have a loader or skidsteer, but have a lot of friends with the equipment that I can use when I need to. I have the trailer that is in some of the pictures, and Ole' Whitey, the 95 F350 with 425000 miles on him. I also have a 96 Dodge 4X4 with a cummins. I have an old tractor with a loader that I haven't fixed yet, that will be good for loading. I could stockpile a tremendous amount of material right now, if I choose to. Almost 200 miles to a scrapyard makes it a little tough to make money on steel right now.

I will have some more pictures to add later. I was able to take advantage of my rural location to score pretty big over the weekend. Lots of scrap, and lots of more than scrap value.
