Sorry if this has been started in a previous thread, I know someone did a yearly total thread not too long ago, but I wanted to do an all time weight/cash breakdown by material. Since I only started scrapping in 2011 and have saved every receipt from every yard, this was easy to break down in an excel sheet. To keep things simple I combined all categories of a material into 1 (e.g. dirty, sheet, cans, cast aluminum is all one). Figured this would be a fun thread for some of the veterans to compare their totals, although I'm not sure everyone saves their receipts. So here it is for my part time in the last 6 years...
Iron-12885 lbs, $1219.04= 9.5 cents average over 6 years (although all averages are not true because the rate at which i sold material was never regular)
Lead acid batteries- 553lbs, $218.77, 39.6 cents average
