There is a market for some parts on obsolete untits

some companies still seek out older units due to reliability, or their specialty

commercial units usually have ram and pretty boards, also good steel weight and possible nonferrous

there used to be any ebay seller on here that went by commission, anybe a min, not sure

    research specific units
The warehouse I am cleaning out had a small machine shop with several shelves full of new parts for these printing presses. I didn't have enough time to take many parts off of the machines themselves but I will have my hands full just trying to sell the new parts.

The yard I am working with is providing the trailers for $200 a load.

How are they categorizing the big stuff, Sheet Iron, Unprepared or Clean Sheet Iron? And if you sell enough of the new parts you may cover the fee for the trailers! Thanks for all the pics and info you provided on this I am not sure I would have been able to do such a big removal of scrap metal. But as they say divide and conquer!
    Better than the dump!

They are classifying it as unprepared. But they are giving me a little less than the normal unprepared price because it's REALLY unprepared and needs so much torching before their buyer will take it.

When I first saw the machines I was very intimidated by them but once I actually got into it they were actually pretty simple.

At least it is more than shred price for them!

I have been super busy since I finished up this job. But just last night I started testing and breaking down some of the computers and electronics I got from this warehouse clean out. So far I have 2 working I-mac computers that have all kinds of great editing software including Photoshop. They are similar to the model in the link below.

Funny how things work. I hadn't touched any electronics from this job in months until last night and this morning I get a text from the property manager asking me if I could remove a tree that fell down during a recent storm. She contacted me first because I made sure to let her know all the different types of work I do and that my main business for the last 10 years has been landscape/tree trimming. So long as I keep doing good work this relationship will pay off for years to come I am sure of it.

Here is some of the other electronics I got from this job back in February.
Imac worth about $150 but my wife wants it.
2 servers which don't seem to have much value except for the power supplies and CPUs. 2 power supplies @ $100 each and 2 @ $150 each 4 CPUs worth $25 each
    network switches 1 @ $90 and 3 @ $30 each

Thanks. It wasn't easy but it was do able. 3 semi loads 50+ loads in my trailer. 10 weeks of mostly 12+ hour days with few days off.

Luckly there were offices in the warehouse where I set up a makeshift play room for my then 2 year old daughter.

So I recently got a hit on a CL ad I posted in the automotive section. In the ad I offered a share in the profit for shops that need their scrap hauled to the yard.

Well I got a response from a property management company who needs a business suite cleaned out. The business was a web and graphics design company but from the limited info I can find about them, they were mainly a printing business. " We print on newsprint and offset paper rolls up to 34" wide, folding to newspaper tabloids sizes or down to 8-1/4" x 10-3/4" (or smaller) booklets, glued and trimmed inline."

I explained I can't do a profit share on electronics because they need to be broken down and shipped out but that I would purchase computers/servers based on scrap value. I explained how printers are mostly plastic and therefor I don't buy them but I would haul them off for free mobile printer. Which will be good for me if they have a decent resale value. They also have a bunch of trash they want hauled off so I am hoping to just trade that out so I am not out of pocket on anything.

My question is about the printers. I have never touched a commercial grade printer. The company had been in business for almost 30 years so I assume their equipment is a bit dated. So I am wondering if older printers are worth anything above scrap value? Or would only the newer stuff be worth anything above scrap? Are there certain types of commercial printers that are more valuable than others?

Lots of info on the forum about copiers, inkjet and laser printers but I couldn't find anything on commercial printing equipment. If anyone had dealt with them I would appreciate some advise. Thanks!

*not sure why the text changed in the middle of my post...
Older commercial-grade printers may still have some value beyond scrap, especially if they are well-maintained and in working condition. Certain types of printers, like those used for large format or offset printing, may retain more value due to their specialized capabilities. However, the resale value of older printers is generally lower compared to newer models. It's essential to research the specific make and model of each printer to determine its market demand and potential resale value. Additionally, networking with industry professionals or exploring specialized forums may provide valuable insights into the value of commercial printing equipment.
