Hows everybody doing this wednesday afternoon? Hope nobody worked too hard and were halfway to the weekend! As of wednesday, 6/27/2018 my load is looking pretty good thanks to my usual week of door jobs, dumpster finds, and coming across a pile of cast iron sewage piping on a job site that was trash, me and a buddy loaded about a third of the total pile over the weekend.
Dont worry this wont be a weekly update kinda gig haha. Just want to share the thrill!
Monday, found a
microwave up in md harry homeowner threw in the dumpster that i stripped down, just found another microwave and a 2' copper pipe in another dumpster before we took down an 8'/7' garage door today. Had even more good luck hitting a ryan homes set of dumpsters after work. 2 garage door motors. 4 6' angle iron, and 6 sets of garage door springs to go along with the 4 sets ive been taking down this week. As well as a gallon bag of #2 wire to go in the bucket w door motor wire, microwave strippings, and jobsite wire trimmings that i pick up along the way. This is what im currently hauling and still have tomorrow to look forward to before i cash in!
A quick question, bit of a noob question, the microwaves contain circuitboards for the keypad. Ive seen alot of talk of e-scraping. Havent been familier with it but if i can make more scraping those from gd components and the microwaves im all for it.
Currently selling light steel and tin for $6.5 a hundred.
A breakdown:
8'7' garage door sections, uninsulated, usually pays around $11
2 gd motors, usually make $3.2 a nonstripped gd motor at my yard of choice
5 gal bucket of #2 com wire
many upon many cast iron sewage pipes.
10 sets of both torsion and extension springs
about 4 lbs of misc. aluminum parts from doors and microwaves.
4 6' angle iron
2 stripped microwaves
2 microwave transformers, trying to sell as motors
2 microwave magnatrons, gonna try for motors as well
4 misc. small electric motors
2' #1 copper pipe
Wayne dalton torquemaster shaft
1 large random chunk of iron, almost looks like i-beam
2 brass cupplings from copper pipe
Misc. door parts
Shooting for atleast a $75 come up, splitting atleast $20 w the buddy for his help. Trying to get him into the scrap game and figured $20 for 20 minutes of loading is a great start. Rent and babysitter want theirs for the end of the month so i need this. Truck wants its gas as well lol. As a part time scraper who does this when im in the area or have down time. Im more than happy with this weeks results and just wanted to share.
Having some issues with byte size on my photos so i cant upload any pictures until i figure this out.
thanks for reading, and hope everybodys making good money this week!
