June proving to be a great month!

3 Trips to the local yard within 11 days, everything from Steel, Aluminum, Copper and Battries brough in $961.

Still have 3 AC units to tear down, 2 Microwaves, 2 Freezers and a Fridge (All non working). Anyone have any tips for me on the easiet and most profitable way to tear these things down?

Also have a house clean out scheduled for the 25th of this month which should bring in a very good amount.

Im finding all of them now. This forum is like God's Handbook for scrapping. Im new to the game so all of this is great. It all started after making $230 off Aluminum cans. After i got that cash, i wanted more. Made enough to buy a pickup and away we go.

where are you in the northeast? i got 30 pounds of tin today, thats the most ive got in over a month ffs. that will end soon though. good haul(s) dude

Welcome aboard Adam!. I definately agree with June being off to a great start. My 10x30 unit is filled to the brim with scrap I need to tear down and more is pouring in.

Hell my make-shift workbench is my tailgate now as I can no longer get to my actual work bench lol.

I think what i love about it so much is that it is like a huge treasure hunt. You never know what your going to find. Plus me and my younger Brother are in it together, and it gives us more time to hang out together, and make money doing it.

Also, i am my own boss. I work when i want, take a break when i want, basically do whatever i want. It is like a gift to not have to follow a schedule or answer to a boss. I am an EMT, dont get me wrong, i love doing it but when i could make money doing this without any stress whatsoever, its like a blessing. I hope one day i could make this into something more but for now, i will keep doing what im doing.

vamped, im in Northeast PA, around the Hazleton/Wilkes-Barre/Pocono's area.

rca, We store everything in my brothers garage, along with all of his household stuff that is in there. It is hard to keep up with the tear downs and the stuff keeps piling up. Keeping it all away from his good stuff is hard. We plan to buy/build a shed or something soon to keep everything locked up. In my area, stealing other people's scrap is common and i will be scrap metalscrap metalscrap metalscrap metaled if im going to do all this work for some A**hole to steal it.

If you have the space, look for a shipping container. I bought a 40' and that holds a whole lot of scrap. Only downside I have seen so far is it gets hotter than hell inside...even if it's not that hot of a day.
