I was out scrapping today at a place I've gone to many times over the past year or so. The dumpster has heavy metal lids, unlike some that have rubber lids. Sure enough, as I have my head inside the dumpster a big gust of wind blew the heavy metal lid onto my head. The impact was so strong that my chin hit the body of the dumpster. I started spitting up blood and have a big fat lip from biting down on it with the impact of the hit. And I have one nasty bump on the top of my head that I am icing now as we speak. The force of the impact caused my glasses to fly into the dumpster.
I had to force myself to open the dumpster one more time to retrieve my glasses. That was not fun while bleeding and trying to hold the dumpster open with just one hand with a gusting wind (so I could use my other hand to retrieve the glasses so I could drive home).
Here is the weird part- just seconds before pulling up to the dumpster I thought to myself "What would it be like if a gust of wind blew one of these shut?" I'd never had that happen before, so I shrugged off the thought. And then, "Wham!"
Anyone else have this happen to them before? (I know a lot of people have been injured a lot worse than this, but it is not a hazard that I would normally be on the lookout for)
