Those 'pizza box' Mac's in the first picture will usually sell for a decent price on eBay, if in good condition.

They work great and I have a mouse and keyboard so one of them will be sold as a package deal. I have a monitor as well but I don't even want to bother shipping that.

Which heatsinks are you referring to? And in general pricewise best to leave CPUs as they are

If it is the genuine apple monitor it is probably worth more than the computers

Today is clean up day. It's amazing how fast my break down area can go to hell.

All the ceramic and black fiber CPU's I have gotten from "the collector" so far. I held off on scrapping out about 10 computers because I think they will sell on ebay pretty quick. Later this week I pick up the "parts computers" he has stored in his shed. Maybe 30 he says?

Heat gun and a bit of patience. Heat will loosen the crusty old thermal paste and you can gently pry off the heatsink. Then to give them a nice shine- goo gone will take off the old thermal paste.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I was thinking heat would do it but wasn't sure if heat would just dry out the paste even more. Thanks for the tip!

That logic is sound, but somehow the heat works to soften it instead of drying it out more! Beaut stash you got! Keep plucking!

Not a scrap find but I am happy to just find out that our new landfill takes CRT's at no extra charge!

I knew once I saw them laying a thick rubber liner at the bottom of the pit that the new landfill was rated for CRT's but I figured they would still have an extra charge.

Now that photobucket is back online I can post a pic of thursdays pick up from "the collector". I guess a few of these are actually servers although you wouldn't know it by looking at them.

406Refining made me an offer I couldn't refuse on the ceramic processors I acquired from "the collector" and I am hoping to find a lot more of them in these computers.

Not to mention 95% of the mother boards so far have been large socket so that is nice. Even a few large socket server boards.

More pics to come early next week as I pick up a couple truck loads of more modern computers from a deal I finalized this week.

Today's pick up was about 3 hours of driving but I should still have them all scrapped out by noon tomorrow minus the dells on the right side of the stack. Those I think should have some resell value.

Maybe not on ebay but I should be able to get something for them locally on craigslist, offer up, let go or at a garage sale. If not the RAM and CPU's will go for more than scrap to a forum buyer.

These computers were advertised as "not guaranteed complete" "missing hard drives" but just from taking a quick peak inside a sample size of them they all have hard drives. Only 2 are obviously incomplete by the CPU heat sink and fans rattling around lose in the case.

Yesterdays pick up was mostly printers but I got a few boxes of wire and a pressure reactor.

The pressure reactor is just the heating element and controls. The vessel that actually pressurizes I don't have. I have only done a quick search to see what it was used for so I am going to have to dig into this a bit more. The complete systems go for a ton of money. Not sure what this is worth but I think I should be able to get something out of it more than scrap.

Also I was pleased to find these nice heat sinks in the small gateway desktops from my last post. Unlike wire or pipe this copper will be easy to stack and store.
