You might have the perfect opportunity at your local recycling center. Visit with the manager about your interest and desire to learn. Start hanging out at the scrap yard trying to learn everything you can about their operation. Get to know and ask employees questions. Always have your best question saved for the manager if the opportunity arises. If you hang out there long enough the manager will get tired of seeing you and put you to work. If your goal is an internship on the management side of the business, start out as an employee to learn this side first. This will allow for an education in
metal recycling before learning the paper work and human resources side of the business. Just some random thoughts.
