Freeze up used to come around Veterans Day, although more recently that's been pushed back way further into Nov and even early Dec. I've seen winter come and stay from about the 10th of Nov a couple of years, although I'm in the one of the warmest areas of East River SD. I suspect there is a lot of farmers with most of their soybeans standing hoping that winter doesn't come early this year but the forecast for next week is mostly nice temps and dryness, so they'll probably get a break. There will be a lot of dust in the country air by the eve of the general pheasant opener!!
