Got a huge load of restaurant flat ware. Pictured here is about 800 lbs of mostly, I believe magnetic stainless steel. I'm not sure, just assuming. I have 3 more loads a bit bigger than this load to still get. I was planning to tumble it clean to resell to restaurants or the general public? Thoughts???

Certain name brand sell very well on FleaBay ... I have sold silverware ( real silver and stainless ) in the past for a decent amount.
Oneida is a common SS brand that can sell well if it is not scratched to ###

I just checked eBay for "sold" lots of flatware. There were eight and a half pages worth sold today, 1/20. There is quite a market for flatware. I guess forks are in demand.

Thanks everyone. I wanted to stay away from e bay as long as possible lol. But I will do that if the restaurant or caterers do no want them. I did hear that restaurants get some back free from the people who launder their napkins and uniforms. Kind of a perk for them. My biggest problem is getting the rest of them out of there. It zero degrees here today!

Ebay is the evil empire but where else can you sell the stuff while you sleep/work/go out with family etc.....it's nice to be out with the kids and check the phone and see sells coming in......the listings take a few minutes as well as packing etc but ebay is open 24/7 with millions of buyers.....true you get the return every one in a while but i check my % was around 2%

My concern with ebay is always the cost of shipping. I am on the east coast so before I list something I have to KNOW how much its going to cost to ship to the west coast. Shipping can take away all the profit. When ever possible I use the USPS Padded envelop, USPS Regional A box and B box. All available for free and shipped to your door. 73, Mike

Flat Rate Box solves that problem. I'd put them in lots of an even number of sets (Say like 50 sets/box or whatever fits and is a nice round number) and start selling them

2019 USPS prices
It's $15 per 'medium' ( 11 x 8 x 5 ) box now.
13 OZ is $6.27 first class.
$23 for 5 lbs ground service.

For what it's worth, if you sell on eBay, they offer discounted shipping rates. For a Medium Flat Rate Box, it's something like $13 if I remember correctly
Although I check the rates available on ebay when I ship I have only once found that USPS ground shipping was less than one of the Priority options. Mike

A friend does this with old Silverplated spoons & makes storks etc, then spray paints them black.
It's quite impressive, sells quickly at markets & he cannot find enough spoons.
