The concrete trucks will probably be hauled as is. The previous owners did a great job of keeping the barrels clean. They will be sold as unprepared instead of as an auto. The weight of the barrels helped me convince the yard that the weight of steel vs fluff is equivalent to a combine. If there was still concrete in the barrel I would have to jack hammer it out. Instead of going to that much work I would just remove the cone. Getting an unprepared price is a game changer. Each truck weighs about 14 tons and the difference between the two prices is between $ 750 to $ 1,000 per truck. I figure a truck can be prepped and towed in one day so I am scheduling two weeks for the trucks alone. After they are towed to the yard the tires and wheels will be removed and that is about all I have to do. The rest of the concrete plant will take about one month. I might be able to sell a few of trucks for better than scrap to local farmers.
