My new yard takes Racoon Fur.......

Hello scrapmates!, I'm new to the forum and had to post this.....I go to a new yard today, cause they're payin .20 more on extruded alum and they buy tv circuit boards and computer scrap. So I turn in my metal and I ask if they have a list of what they accept. I take my dough and the 2 page list and I come across the "R" section and it reads.....Racoon Furs #1 Jumbo
    Racoon Furs #2 XL
    Racoon Furs #3 Large
    Racoon Furs #4 Med-Sm
I'm thinking this is a joke, so i ask and they say oh ya but it has to be "season"
    Unbelievable!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!

There are a couple of guys that live around me and they trap coons. They get about $30 each and this last season their truck bed was PACKED with coons. I have never seen that many before!

They used to fetch $25 - $50 many years ago. That was before the anti-fur movement.

Hmmm... wonder if there's anybody around here that does that, or who I could ship them too.

Thanks, KZBell. Keep reporting them. I am on the East coast and may be asleep when some of them get posted, but I'm usually up by 4:30 and checking. So, hopefully, they'll get deleted before most are up. I think admin might have changed signup procedure for the site, too.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

2.50-3.00 / lb. mother boards, ICW#3 is .50 /lb, lion batteries 1.20/lb, I havent sold them any ram or cpu's so i dont know what they pay. Hard drives are .60/lb but Im keeping mine for now. Power supplies are .35/lb , but I make more by tearing them down and separating.

Dang, raccoons are every where here in Toronto, BUT they are not allowed to be trapped or hurt. I've heard that the city has about 700 THOUSAND of them.

Oh well, on to the next idea.......!

not bad pricing for a yard. you could make a little more by shipping, but it involves the hassle of boxing and dropping off at a depot. make sure you get at least $0.50 lb more for finger cards though. And look into gold ends, there is at least one thread about them, and they are mentioned a lot.

Here are $30 worth just have to get them out of the tree. My neighbors tree and he was missing his cat that Summer.
He woke up one morning around 3AM and 3 racoons were staring at him inside his house they got in through the dog door.

If you decide to vacation in South Florida, go to Fort Lauderdale. Take Sunrise Blvd. east about 2 blocks before you hit the Atlantic. Go at night, look to the left. There will be a fenced in parking lot and you will see about 100+ pairs of racoon eyes staring at you. I have a photo somewhere, but it is an amazing sight. If you like a cold beer there is a place called The Parrot right around the corner (world famous!).
