I would have to say, if there is any old time performer that I used to watch from my younger days that I really really miss, Johnny Carson would be him. At the time he retired, he had been the tonight show host my entire life ('62-'92). He was reliable. Always interesting. Always funny. Always reliably entertaining. You can say, "There will never be another," with a lot of people, but Johnny Carson was in a league of one in my book. Sigh.... If there is an afterlife, and if I make it into heaven (and he did), I want to shake his hand and thank him for entertaining me late nights from '75 until he quit in '92. Not every night, but it was worth it to tune in if I were up, and many a late night coming home with a buzz...
