I figure I have about 1500lb of those. 16 to 18 awg insulated wire. What would this wire go as? I have a few choices of yard to take them to. The one I took the motors to is not the best paying but electric motor price is the same everywhere and this yard is close. I plan to take the cords to a yard that deals alot in nonferrous so the pricing is better. Heres what their website says for copper insulated.
CU PREM. INSULATED WIRE (CLEAN): $1.20 |
CU PREM. INSULATED WIRE (DIRTY): $1.00 |
CU INSULATED WIRE: $0.50 |
COMPUTER WIRE: $0.10 |
Those would be just cu insulated wire (the one @ $0.50 on your list, it's $0.40 by me).
Those higher categories I think are for solid copper wires types, where as the ones off appliances are standard copper. So like Romex and thhn wire are probably those upper 2 categories.... At least that's would be my guess
You can always call, and ask and tell them your amount they may give you better prices for an amount like yours at 1500lbs
