Scrap yard surprise - free coffee!

So I had to hit up my least favored scrap yard yesterday since I cut it too close to closing times. I go through my regular rigamarole, argue about #2 vs #1 copper, walk into the office and...walk out with a Tim Horton's (coffee) gift card! Apparently, the yard offers "points" by weight now, depending on the type of scrap brought in. I'm lucky enough that they offer 1 point for every 20 lbs of copper, or every 500 lbs of shred. I don't think i'll ever have to pay for a coffee again!

Is this a novelty, or do you guys have yards around that do the same? I tell you what, I'll take a little bit of extra time haggling for the worth of my non ferrous metals if it means I can get my caffein fix for nothin.

Yard I use now gives you a t shirt for a 5 star review on google. One where I used to live did a points system: one point for every dollar sold and you could get a t shirt, work gloves and something else, maybe a hat? If I was running the yard I’d do higher value items like hand tools. What scrapper wouldn’t love to be rewarded for loyalty with a new pair of pliers, wire cutters or even up to a sawzall or cordless drill. I do love me some Tim hortons coffee though.
