It has been A very Long time

    Hey everyone,

It has been a very long time since I have been on here, it has been pretty crazy for me, I have moved on from scrap metal to investing into precious metals, but scrapping will always be in my blood till the day I die, I have picked up employment with a company that deals with government contracts and I have been with them a year now, good pay, but right now I am on medical leave, I had to have my lower part of my back fused the L5 S1 part of it, so right now I am still recovering from that, it was all the years worth of heavy lifting that blew out the disc in the lower part which caused me to lose feeling from the waist down, and now after the surgery I am now getting the feeling back into my legs and I have to go through physical therapy for about 6 months.
Like I said it has been awhile since I posted anything here and I just wanted to drop in to say hi to everyone here and that I am still alive and kicking with the best.

I am glad to hear from you and am hopeful for your recovery. Don't give up it will take longer than it seems it should. I have had my own medical issues and recovery in my life that took years to get much better. Now at the age of 67 I have been riding motorcycles for a year now, I own two. My life has taken on many changes over the years including this forum and scraping as a part time business. In fact I started dismantling home a/c motors as part of my recovery and soon after transitioned to ewaste. I made that I change to ewaste because of this forum and I was getting better physically.

Lastly for me one of the greatest improvements to my health and life was losing body fat. Over nearly 2 years time from I lost about 75 lbs., 254.4lbs to 179.0lbs. I'm a guy who has been overweight for a very long time, certainly since the 1980's and been on many diets and exercised lots. So what worked for me? KETO aka low carb high fat (LCHF) and NO exercise. That's right I purposely did not go to the gym for an entire year and then decided to stop paying the gym dues.

For you or others who read this and are interested in this way of eating I highly recommend KenDBerryMD on youtube, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIm...1Mz2AuOt6wRSUw There are many others who are great and well worth checking out but Dr. Berry is one of the best for me.

Last on the diet I and others believe you need to continue eating this way not just drop some weight. 73, Mike

    Miked,
Thank you very much, it has been a big learning curve for me, the way I feel right now, I want to go back to work, but the Hr manager won't let me until I get the lifting restrictions lifted, but for right now I am reading post and constantly checking sliver prices, planning my next purchase, once again thank you
