In one go, maybe $300ish (including scrap and resale items).... on average probably $50

I never really got into doing much with curbco (never had time in my schedule between college classes). Every once in a while I would pick up stuff posted for free on facebook marketplace. The best one was a free stainless whirlpool microwave that stopped heating. I took it home and put a replacement magnetron in it and sold it the next day for $40. After that I started looking into the resale side of microwaves a lot more.

Curb co. is fun and all but the real money isnt at the curb. I only do curb co. 1 day a week now. I prefer to drive 2 miles for a truck load instead of driving aimlessly around 20+ miles to find $5, $6 , $7 or nothing in shred steel. You know you made it when you dont rely on the garbage route. Im just south of Chicago witch is more populated area than probably most of the areas you guys live in so there are more people doing this here. And higher the prices go the more competition you will have. So i go where the degenerates and tweekers arn't. Its not to hard to out smart those people

My daily route is a 8 mile round trip. No more going out 3-4 times a day threw all the neighborhoods anymore. Most curb items are crap and lucky to find a appliance once in a while. i dont give my no. out to residential anymore. i wont even do residential pick ups unless its for family or friends.

Well, not all from CurbCo, and not one day's worth, processed materials, the loads I brought in: $130 for a load in the back of a '78 Subaru Brat, and $120 all non ferrous in the trunk of a '01 Kia Rio.

Ive found a ton of gems in my area mostly because it is a very well off suburban area.... so Ive found numerous bikes that were $100-300 in resale as is that were just tossed out at the curb. Found 30ish computers out at the curb once with all drives and ram and cpus still in them... curb can be hit or miss but its actually what I enjoy doing the most, even though it is the least amount of money. I have been neglecting the curb though recently as Ive had too much other stuff to pick up from repeat clients for ewaste or from clean outs. but I do enjoy it, its like hunting for treasure, but the days that I go out and its cold and rainy and I come back with like... 3 crutches and a toaster after driving around 20miles for an hour..... I do question why Im doing it and if it is really worth it.... but then the days you cant believe what youve found mostly make up for it. But as its getting colder and darker earlier there are less of those good days so putting it on pause for a while. I think until the spring most likley.
