Just curious, what does everyone do with the wire insulation after stripping, especially when you have large quantities.
I get 2/0 and 3/0 welding ables, the insulation is messed up so I'm scrapping it. But I will have a large amount of the insulation. Just wondering of what to do with it, instead of just throwing it away.

Im not quite sure. I get alot as well. I sure wish you could get it recycled though. All you can do is trash it.

Your best bet is to just go do the work. Hands on experience is the best teacher.

Unless you can find someone who wants to make whirly gigs, wigs or confetti out of it all its good for is landfill.

They used to call em' thongs back in the day.
Prolly not the best idea to make em' out recycled wire insulation. Romex and some of the other wire types have rat poison infused into the insulation itself. Automotive wiring insulation, made in China, is partially soy based.The furry little nibblers eat that stuff right up.
A little off topic but i ran some 6 Gauge cable, with finely stranded wire inside, through my electric stripper this afternoon. It worked pretty well. Mac 86 might think about investing in one if he's getting amount of cable. It would pay for itself pretty quickly now that copper prices are up. He should be able to get a yield of about .30 lbs of # 2 copper per linear foot of cable.

Yeah, we are on the same wavelength. Been doing it for months and I could say, it's working.
