    It doesn't actually weigh 12 tons. I forget why they call it that. A central air unit for a home is about a 2 to 3 ton unit, but weighs around 300 to 500 lbs I would imagine.


    EDIT:



    1 ton equals 12,000 BTU. Has to do with cooling capacity.

    A litttle bit of exageration on the 300-500 lbs guess.
    We buy electronic scrap, Gold Karat scrap, gold filled, refined gold, silver and many other item's.

    It was a guess. I have since scrapped a unit and know it weighs far less.
