Any of you have any luck with craigslist ads?

How so? Like specifically how much work do you get from them?

Gonna be starting my own operation soon and was just curious.....thanks!

Do you mean searching and picking up stuff or posting an ad and getting stuff? The latter worked for me.
NEW TO SCRAPPING? READ THIS: Build up your horde of magnetic and non-magnetic metals in two piles until you have a better understanding of the business. Magnetic material has low value and is mostly always steel / shred / short iron. Read old threads about non-magnetic metals and ewaste (and how to sort them), but don't forget that they generally have absolutely no tolerance for contamination (screw / iron / foreign material).

There are good examples of flyers to search on this forum. This is what I adapted when I posted my ads. It was basically just "get rid of your old stuff, free local pickup, call me at 555-1234" I added a picture or two and then I listed it in three categories. Since Craigslist is free to use, it costs nothing to advertise, it stays online for like 3 months, the site emails you to renew it. I didn't get rich, but whatever it brings will be free money with no cash investment to do (just some time).

One of the best scrap loads I ever got was from a Craigslist ad I posted. Wanted. It was several years ago, but it was a good haul
