And it runs?? Were you wearing a mask?

    Seriously, good find.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

For $300.00 you did great, Re-cycler. I always liked the old Fords!

Looks like a great deal. Them pumps and hose reels gotta be worth more than scrap value. I don't know what pressure they are, might make a nice fire truck, or put a bed on it and haul stuff. Use them PTO for something.

Around here people are buying up the older retired fire trucks and putting them in parades.

Please tell me you are not going to scrap the truck. You ought to be able to get more than $300 (or scrap value, I'm not sure of its weight) out of it. These old trucks aren't around anymore, especially the big ones. They had smaller production runs than the smaller F-series anyway. Of course it is yours to do what you want with but I just had to voice my opinion. It kills me to see a running, driving old car or truck scrapped just because it weighs a lot.

I know I'm new on here, but if you do scrap it, I'd love to have the VIN tag off the driver door. It's the little steel/aluminum plate that is rivited to the door. Sometimes it could be inside the door jamb or on the inside of the glove box door. I collect old VIN plates when old cars get junked. I literally have thousands of VIN's in an Excel database that I've collected over the years. I'd pay for postage if you would go through the trouble of popping it off.

That is a common misconception. Nothing can be obtained with just a VIN, especially on something that old.

Please go here http://www.tbirdregistry.com/xxx.aspx and type in Arthur Ash III (my name) into the first search box. I've documented over 5,000 Thunderbirds for this Registry, all by VIN. Registries like this exist for pretty much any popular old car (Mustangs, Cougars, Ferraris, etc.) I do the same for myself, only with any old car I find in a junkyard or around town. You can also check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/forwardlookguy/page3/ to see my personal collection. All of these cars I've documented in junkyards. I have a VIN for each one. I'm sorry for the long post but I just really love old cars and don't want to be misrepresented on here. I am a new guy after all!

No, I never do anything like that. I have a little library of them that I've found in old cars in junkyards. Just thought I'd ask. Thank you for not taking that the wrong way. I just love old cars and want to save them and document their existence any way I can! I'm one of the "love and labor" kind of people you mentioned at the end.

Georgia doesn't require a title for anything that is over 25 years old. If you have a bill of sale, it can be registered. As far as I know there are no restrictions on scrapping a vehicle either. I see them all the time coming in. I have a friend who owns a junkyard and I asked him if he had any old titles laying around so I could add to my Excel database cars that had been crushed and he said he wasn't required to have a title to take it in. I was kind of amazed at that but I guess some states are more lenient than others!

nice find cycler. you paid for the tank got the truck free. if the tank came with the truck it may be restorable.think of all the collecters that pay big bucks for gas pumps, signs, and all things oil related that would love to have a tanker truck for there collection.i dont see that here what i do see is some old farmer that needs a control arm or axel to keep his old truck going wishing they knew you.what they will have to pay to get that part they can buy your whole truck.all you need here is (time-space-money)if you got the time and space you will make money.if you got the time but no space for it or space but no time than scrap it and make your money now while prices or good.all in all its a win win for you good luck

Disney is scheduled and paid for. Christmas week and into New Years. Might as well go big lol now that i'm broke. If anybody is looking for anything that they could use or want just send me a PM and I'll keep a list and if I ever come across what you are looking for I will let you know, send pictures, set up shipping ect. I'm not big on Ebay so that won't happen lol.

They don't know yet, hehe. We're leaving on the 23rd after I pick them up from school. The flight is at 6p. I'll tell them on the way to the airport. I need a vaca, wanted to go on a cruise by myself but I'd rather spend time with them and let them have as much fun as possible. Got rid of my headache with a mouth so it's just going to be me and my girls.

I hope you're letting your ex-wife in on the plans. Or do you have custody?

I like the way you say that!

Sounds like your girls will have a great time, therefore so will you.

I did tell her I was going, whether she likes it or not doesn't concern me. lol No, Mick I don't have custody and she is filled in. I was thinking about that, I'll tell them when we get there. Dee the split didn't really affect much besides me with the girls. I'm doing a lot better without her as far as the whole situation goes. Joe that's one of my spur of the moment sayings lol. My 2nd favorite saying is, Don't go away mad, just go away.
