Its all good...reason why you don't have to filter the oil but you still should..I let my oil sit for a good bit..and I change my fuel filter out often. Because I have dual tanks I have dual fuel fuel filters that come off each tank..then another filter at the motor.
Old diesel motors where MADE to run on veg oil...but crude oil was cheaper..so diesel fuel was made from crude not veg...in newer diesel trucks you have to do some mods to them to get it to work right.
I Do have a Electronic injectors in my truck but oil is still oil. Yes the veg fuel is a little thicker but it will run just fine in the 7.3 diesel motor the lift pump an injection pump where made to be able to pump fuel when its 20- or something like that...when its that cold..the diesel fuel gets real thick...that is why you have block heaters to warm the block to help in starting...that is why I said start truck on diesel fuel an warm her up before you change her over to veg oil. When the oil moves closer to the motor it gets warmed up when its going up the back side of the motor an going over the top to the injectors an then flows just fine from there.
You will or could feel a very small amount of power loss due to this but no damage will happen to the motor. Alot of info can be found here on using one or two tank systems.
