    My haul from san jac

    16 cast aluminum engine blocks/ transmissions sold for breakage 1831 lbs., 12 car rear-end axles + 1 Engine 2219 lbs. sold for steel, 92 pounds cast aluminum including a 62 lb. solid piece, 1/4 6061 aluminum plate 4.5'x3' 39 lbs.

    total $565.41

    That's all???? What prices are you getting for aluminum breakage, steel, cast alum, etc.??

    total was after i paid the college. 62 cents a pound for cast, 15 cents a pound for breakage, 72 cents a pound for 6061 alum., 8 cents a pound for carbon steel

    thanks, heres usually what we get: car parts, welding rod stubs, shot grit, slag, copper and brass MIG tips, acetylene and C-25 tanks with nice brass fittings, broken welding machines and cutting torches/gas regulators, stainless and nickel alloy pipe, steel pipe, thousands of feet of welding cable, miscellaneous carts and tables/chairs, car batteries by the pallet, 1/4" steel plate sections and pipe sections (from the students practice welds) averaging 5-20 lbs a piece at least 200 thrown in our bin a day, broken air compressors, broken bench grinders, any broken machinery or power tools, we never know what theyre gonna throw at us but its great
