Watch movies and strip wire. Not a bad way to spend an evening. Aluminium on the left. Tinned copper on the right

I always keep a bucket of insulated wire next to my tv for commercials and boring parts haha.
The family that strips together, stays together. Toss that comment out to someone that doesn't have a clue lol.
How that's funny! :-D

That is class! My load is next to me by my computer desk so I do it when I have nothing else to do online xD
hey there how much do you sell the ALUM wire for. jsut what ALUM would go for normally or is it in a class of its own. reason i ask is my city has alot of new subdivisions that are being built and the electricans just throw away the big thick ALUM wire and i wonder if its worth much? Thanks
well im goign to pick it up but just dont know what it is classified as and might be a bit of a drive up here to Canada lol. just saying.
I booked a holiday to turkey yesterday and were taking my mother and sister with us as a thank you for all they do for us, helping with our baby. They know how many hours I work and how hard I've been looking for appliances to scrap to help us pay for it. My little sister asked if her and my girlfriend can start stripping wire every night to help me out. I'm really proud of her attitude and can't wait to see the copper bins fill up!

Aluminum wire where i'm at in NJ goes for about .70-.80 a lb pending. Not tinned copper wire.

Bare aluminum wire is treated as Prepared Aluminum here. The aluminum wire I've gotten is real easily stripped since it tends to be larger gauge and the insulation is stiffer than copper. As for prices, this is from a price list I got Aug 4th and is intended as a comparison guide:
Aluminum - 0.50/lb
Insulated Aluminum - 0.25/lb
I think it's well worth the couple minutes it takes to strip about 50' of wire and double the money.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
