Prices at Pacific Steel (Nampa, ID)

Prices for Pacific Steel & Recycling, Nampa, Idaho

Hauled 3 loads of scrap on Wednesday.

    Tin & car bodies (Dodge Dynasty) 2060 lbs @ .12 1/2 cents $250

    Scrap iron 1760 lbs @ .08 cents $140.80

    Scrap iron 1160 lbs @ .09 cents $104.40

    Total $495.20

Was surprised I got as much as I did for the car because:

    1. I stripped it clean. (Motor/trans., cat, radiator, oil cooler, wire harnesses, heater core, evaporator, window motors, master cylinder, alternator, starter, etc)

    2. When I called a few weeks ago asking price per ton on cars they said $160. So when I saw what the ticket said I mentioned that cars must have gone up. Nope she says. It's $160 a ton.

    "But... this here says..."

She tried explaining it several times. It never made sense but I am happy with it.

As for the 2nd and 3rd trips, both loads were same type of material so I don't get the penny difference, especially since the penny higher was on a smaller load. 8 cents is what I usually get.

I was gonna call United, but figured I needed to get these loads in before the city/county hassles me for my mess. What is United paying?

At any rate, Pacific is closest, with North American by the sugar factory being 2nd closest, but I haven't taken anything to them in a long time.

I gave $100 for it. Still ran, but not very well. Good enough to load it onto a trailer and drag it home for surgery.

    Took another car in.

    Tin & car bodies (1995 Dodge Intrepid) 2,040 lbs @ .0858 cents $175

Stripped of nearly everything, just like the last car, and I can't get over the fact none of their 15 cameras caught that.

I asked why I got more last time. They said it must have been a complete car. I said no, it wasn't and I told you it wasn't.

Ohh...uhh well, I don't know but this is the price.

lol Dee. I hit that car with a cutoff grinder, sawzall and skidsteer with fork attachment. That made quick work of getting stuff out of dash/under dash. And also to roll the car on its side to cut the cat.

Currently working on my 4th car. All have been calls from CL as far as I know. I never remember to ask where they saw my ad so I can have a general idea where leads are coming from.

    Dee, go get a car!

What category are you placing the ads?

    I place mine under services.

I have a long ad. I name everything I will take in the hopes it jogs some ones memory "ohh, I have such and such, I'll call for a pickup". I also name off the surrounding cities & towns in the event someone has done a search that way.

If you're still not getting any replies, then search for cars. Do keyword searches such as wrecked, totaled, no title, head gasket, accident, doesn't run, etc.
