Few of my big hauls this year

Went to a city auction in march, won 4 pallets of old traffic signal control boxes and cameras. Won it for $330, sold it after tear down for $2700 profit. ICs, aluminum, transformers, copper, and a little brass.



June, picked up 9 (2700lbs total) military army AC units from gov liquidation. Only ended up making a few hundred bucks due to having to spend alot on Oxy/Acetalyne and the compressors being 700lbs of the weight.


Just won this lot last week, going to pick them up tuesday. 3000lbs (3units). Larger copper/alum coils than the smaller 9 last units and alot bigger aluminum box/frame. Predict $1500-1800, paid $750.

Compressors being all the weight? Dude, do you realize that 7-10lbs of the compressors are steel, the rest is an electric motor... That's like make me cry worthy stuff right there. My next beer, I'm going to pour a little on the ground for you...

Yes, I know they are electric motors and I cut the outside steel shell off with a torch and sold the heavy inside as a motors. Ive been tearing apart stuff as long as I can remember.

I dont hang on to stuff long, prices are high so I move it quick. Im just renting this place. All of my scrap money is going to my savings account so I can buy a house by the time in 30. I used to live in Houston up untill last year (may) also. Was there on the NW side for 7 years after I went to school.

Well today sucked big time. I got the 3 AC units, and they are steel cases, not aluminum. The total weight of all 6 clean refers out of them will be around 250lbs, maybe 50-60lbs of electric motors, some stainless cage looking thick wire stuff, and a small amount of aluminum and about 15-20lbs of bare copper pipe. I shouldnt loose any money, but sure not gonna bank roll either. Live and learn I guess..... The refers are pretty **** big! Need a longer sawz-all blade for the thick one. Hoping I can get $2/lb for them atleast.
