I'm having trouble with the price on copper you quoted, when the London Metal Exchange says it's worth as of Sept 07/11 -- $4.0981

Where is the profit for the yard if they're paying spot.

    Regards
    Gustavus

I am getting more than $4.10 right now for my copper.

Copper in dallas...is a hard market for any company/scrap yard. The price maybe that but we all know copper will go back up...so the yards lowered there price...but they are hording it waitting until copper can go back up. Don't forget they have deeper pockets than you...they buy like nuts...trying to be the higher paying than another yard...when copper comes up...they have TONS of it ready to sell.

P.s a profit of $0.05 x 45,000= $2250.00 I have seen trailers over the 45,000 pound mark....not hard when your loading solid metal. So every 1,000pounds will = $50 cash in there pocket. (the other 2cents will pay for the labor of moving it....its all ready clean copper now...no real labor.)
