People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
OK. To answer this.
Selling computers on Ebay is not worth the time, to much competition. Reloading a computer and selling it locally is worth the time and that's how I started years ago... the only problem with that is support. If something dies you will have someone knocking on your door. If they load spyware on their machine it becomes your problem. If you "ghost" the OS after you are done loading it and burning that to a bootable cd, then tape that disk inside the machine before you sell it, then you will have a quick and easy way to restore it if they bring it back. I have moved to only rebuilding core 2 duo or better machines. P4's sometimes will be rebuilt. If you rebuild something that's junk and slow, and sell it to a buyer that doesn't know computers, you will get burned when their nephew looks at it and says you screwed them. Only resell things you will stand behind and give good deals!
Selling computer parts is very hit and miss. Some are worth the money, some aren't. Look up completed values.
Selling parts as ewaste for gold recovery. Use the buyers mentioned on this forum or find someone closer to you. Don't get ripped off on the sale. Also, selling scrap boards on ebay is hit and miss. Sometimes you make more then these buyers and sometimes you make less... then when you figure in ebay fees it's sometimes a wash. Having the convenience of knowing I could scrap my pile and KNOW what I can expect for payout from the pile and getting paid right away is WAY more important to me the the few extra bucks I can make on Ebay selling the scrap (and needing to wait the 7 days for the auction to close).
There are other topics I have covered here. Take a look. Don't feel like repeating it to much.

Just started watching U tube on gold recovery , My back round with working with acids I fully feel i could figure out this technique, I am surprised as to how much i taught my self concerning TV"s CRT's Copper wire recovery with out ever watching U Tube. Gold is $1800 per Ounce I am very intrigued about the potential . I see i have been over looking the gold in so many things i have found - Acid is very low cost as is peroxide Till further notice I feel i will not sell any items as i believe i will figure out how to do gold recovery . One day i might rename my self Gold head, certainly as of now with copper recovery i am ready to be a star on U tube If i wanted.

You might check out this site before you start experimenting.

If you enjoy your freedom, thank a vet.
That site I showed you has all that there, that's what they do, REFINE GOLD. They have the different formula's, different way's of doing it and all, and above all they'll tell you if you don't know what your doing, it could kill you. Just be careful experimenting,,,
A 70 pound box which is the most you can ship with USPS costs about $52 dollars to ship parcel post. Extra for insurance of course.
uhhhh, not to be rude here or insulting, but did any one actually read the original post. Copper head: reading a few archiveswould have avoided this whole thread. and made you some searious money. I think that is the whole purpose of this site. there are 3 or four guys here prctically begging you to sell them your computer stuff, but if you cant find em, send me your boards and ill pay you $1 per lb. and even pay for shipping.

this is true as long as your dimensions are within their limitations.. mine are and they wont even ship it.. I am not fond of the USPS anyway..
I am driving mine to this place http://www.ohiodropoff.com/buy.html

I work for the USPS and I dont have a problem shipping the boxes. I just use paypal to create a shipping label then take it to the post office and hand it over the counter. I wish I had a local yard that payed good money for this stuff but we dont here in denver. At least not one that I found. the only yard I found here in denver so far only pays $2.50 for motherboards and $.05 for low grade boards. thats the only 2 classes of boards they take. So I have to ship mine out to get good money for them.

On small loads...USPS is better than anyone else...bigger loads...still USPS..but if you CAN get it onto a pallet...thats the way to go.
2 pallets from Tampa FL to Dallas TX about 1,300 pounds total weight and the cost was around $160
Yeah I cant wait till I can get enuff to do pallet loads.
For all that must be . I think if one can figure the refineing method the final result should exceed the scrap price of un processed boards and such BUT till one figures the cems & deals with the dangers. I am not sure what to make of it yet
Copper Head....I honestly can't decide if you are for real or if you're just yanking our collective chain.....
I just hope we don't read his name in the paper in the obit. section,One day i might rename my self Gold head,
I am for real, I scrap - dismantle and scrap some more. I am trying to get in to gold recapturing from computers. It seems complicated. Since pay as much as $6.50 per Lb for boards is out there ,a final higher value can be obtained. I just want to know if I can be one of those people, for some gold refiners I think it's a challenge or just a hobby, Even i can enjoy the intellectual satisfaction of knowing which chemicals to use to recapture gold. But all in all I want to make money with any thing I find. To bad i can't find a yard that would pay even $5.00 per pound for computer boards. Since .65 is the going rate. I figure some how after i learn how to recapture the gold that should exceed the .65 going rate in the northern tier
------------------
D-Dee if you think i am not for real maybe i should take a pic of all my yard receipts and post them, or you ask me a question only a scraper would know.
Here's one for you , in a microwave oven tell me all the items that have value and how you would separate them for the highest pay out ? I want it in detail
