It's been a busy couple weeks...

I went down to Kentucky and scrapped out a small automotive assembly shop. The entire thing was automated. I got a bunch of Bradley Allen automation equipment for e-scrap price, and the circuit boards by themselves usually sell for 60 bucks a piece. I feel great about that.

Not to mention I picked up 2 rotary motors the guy had bought for car lifts and never set-up. He thought the motors were blown, turns out they had the wrong plug ends on them. They are for 110, not 220. Put 110 cords on them and they fired right up. Got the motors for 8 bucks. They just sold on ebay for 268 bucks.

Now I have a load to take in tomorrow as well, Aluminum rims galore, cast iron tub, old stove, and car batteries.

That's a good little load. Should bring 200 bucks easy.

My rotary motors sitting outside my shop.

I'm liking this. I'm liking this a lot.

Go on folks, hijack some thread and tell me about your week!

Well, I agreed to help a friend break down and sort a massive pile of PC towers, TVs, and other electronics from his flooded basement. 10+ TVs, 7+ computer towers, numerous computer parts, and a bunch of other electronics. To give you an idea of the quantity, we loaded a 4x8ish trailer with stuff to the top and then went back for more. Now I'm serving as a broker between him and Easy. Other than that, not a whole lot going on at the moment.

I am thinking I cannot bring my friend anymore to scrap jobs because paying him on a 60/40 basis is not worth it to me as I am just starting out trying to survive and pay bills  .

was going to make 72$ on this 900pnd load of Long Iron .08 cents per pound and he received 30 of it for helping cut it into sections that would fit in the truck.

I have an additional 1200 pound load to take in plus a little bit of copper. I am expecting another 100$ or so but from now on I think I must fly solo until more cash comes in steadily. Sad fact of life that you never want to mix friends with business. I am having a ****ty week haha but congrats on the job.

Nice! Those hoist (lift) motors where a great deal!

My week has shown next to nothing on the scrap front, just working and house maintanace stuff...

but this morning I did pick up 8 big garbage bags of cans from a mate of mine. He had been collecting them for 12 mths hopiong that the can price would hit $2 a KG...LOL!! not likely, so he gave up, and said I should have them. I guess its about 45KG (60lb) of cans. so like $50 I guess..not bad for free money...
