    Leverage & diversify

Leverage & diversify HMM what am I talking about. Scraping metal offers these monetary advantages.

    First
if you a hoarder type scrapper, as you know metal price goes up and down
but the darling of consistent price pay out to your pocket is Aluminum & non Ferris Stainless steel as i have noticed those 2 metals seem to more or less stay around .50 to .55 . So if you have copper & don't like the current price they pay, hoard it & keep on the look out for Aluminum & non Ferris Stainless steel as there is no need to hoard those metals, as you wait for a market shift in copper. That's Leverage

    Second

The art of collecting, as you hunt & collect you are monetarily diversifying, cause generally as you decide what to grab you might miss a few items to others or choose not to grab some items if you feel a need to ask home owner first but don't have the time. Luckily the value of each item you find represents a true diversifying value , missing out on some items might only be like missing out on $10 to $15 . With a bit of luck / skill you'll find more but of-course missing out on the mother load might sting a bit, & that's the point if one was to only look for the lucky find , say a 600 pound oil burner it will take some time , so just keep on diversifying

Does this mean I have to diversify my portfolio and go long on uranium futures? Should I grab a hedge fund manager and have him do the numbers? Should I be a bear or a bull?!?

Diversify my portfolio and go long on uranium futures - NOPE - I would look into Vacuums I feel Vac's should provide a climate for a bull market I feel a GPS smart phone gaming computer Vac is in the works, the technology is ready to put into place .When it hits the market be ready !! TV's might be ready to crash A hedge fund manager can do the numbers on Blenders they are sneaky little things

    OK
    Point 2. ???????? say what ????
If you search your chances to find are 70% if you miss some chances from other scrapers well due to the diversifying truth of trash picking your still at 65%. The trash truck will result in a 100% loss always stay in front of trash truck

I know some times i can't believe the things i find also, I don't have the time but i bet the the things we find that work could be sold for above scrap price, which puts the find ahead of the game from a point of $$ . Some people do sell stuff at flee markets. If I ever do that I'll probably kick my self for what i have scraped so far for .10 per pound. I guess if you find it and like it SOMEBODY else will like it and want it also but they will just never get it in the manner we find it.
Just the other day I heard my next door neighbor talking loud (for a reason ) he was saying to the guests he had over "that guy next to me I saw Dumpster Diving" thing is I felt no shame of it. Kinda sad for me ???

Your neighbor is probably just a couple financial reversals from dumpster diving himself. At least he's not out competing with you!
