Competition slows down in the winter, but so does the
scrap metal. Here in Idaho it's pretty much all farm land. When winter hits, it's all frozen. And NOOOO farmer or rancher wants to be out walkin' their fields in 6 inches of snow and ice, looking at steel thats frozen into the land.
Last winter was TOUGH for me. All i did was scrap metal. I was literally at one point, counting on the day i cashed in my aluminum cans to pay for my cell phone. It gets tough, but it's possible.
I'm in the
E-Scrap game, now. I know i'm going to take a hit this winter, as i survive off big box companies that get donations, then i get the electronics. In winter, they dont get as many donations, because who wants to clean out their garage/storage unit/house when it's 5 degrees out? I'm hoping Christmas (sorry, "Holiday" for all you politically correct folk) brings in a lot of donations.
Moral of the story, only the tough survive. Do NOT give up. Just keep pluggin' along, give 110% every cold ass day, brew a couple pots of hot coffee and continue.
