    My first load

A few things I pulled from the trash at work but most of the items I grabbed from the curb. No idea at what weight I'm looking at since I don't have a proper scale. Hopefully it gets me a few bucks though. The yard I will be going to is on my way home from work so it doesn't require burning anymore gas or dealing with more rush hour traffic than I normally would which is nice, not sure what they are paying for steel though.

That's about what I was expecting. Obviously I'm not really concerned about bringing in a big payday lol. I'm sure for most on on here my haul for the week is less than impressive, but I gotta say it felt good loading my little truck for the first time and I'm sure it will feel even better once it's empty again and I have a few more dollars in my pocket.

just depends on what you take in. I took a load in one time that was small but HEAVY different types of mechanical equipment. everyone looked at me like I was crazy but walking away with a few hundred dollars felt good.

its all just how you look at it really

tip for tberry....if you turn your appliance on its back, you can use it as a container for all your loose stuff....save space and save time unloading at the yard. Great job for first load.

Hahah I know this feeling. Heck just Sunday we took my wifes car to a friends house to watch the Texans play, and before we got out of the apartments, I had already turned around to get my truck for a BBQ grill, table and few dvd/vcr players.

First and last time I will be giving that yard my buisness lol. Wouldn't budge from $130/ton. I wasn't happy, but since it's a small load I decided to just take it.

I don't think you can "negotiate" with small loads Tberry.

I take it you were trying to negotiate. Let me be the first to tell you that unless you are a business that is constantly bringing them a lot of scrap so they can meet quotas, there is no negotiating. You either accept their price, or they will tell you, that you are welcome to do business else where.

Nah there was no negotiating. I asked him what he was paying and he just put it out there, "$130/ton and not a penny more". He made it very clear there was no wiggle room lol

Mine doesn't go by tons, they just say per 100lb, but yeah, same stuff though.
