    Tonight's finds

Ok so tonight was a little bit better find than my recent nights have been. I found a large amount of electric wire (I think it's out of a car it says gasoline and oil resistant and 650 volts on it,) about 200 pounds of miscellaneous car parts, 2 brake pads, an alternator, a garbage disposal and then a little bit of normal insulated wire. Overall I think it was a pretty good night considering I found most of that in 1 dumpster. Plus I may get a pretty hefty load of aluminum in the next couple of days. I found a bunch of aluminum shelving behind an auto shop, but it was still up against the building so I didn't feel right taking it without talking to someone about it first.

Oh and something that I saw at the yard this morning almost made me start crying. My yard doesn't pay much for circuit boards they pay like it's steel. I saw a guy bring in a box FULL of motherboards and PCI cards (I think I saw some RAM too) with the fingers still attached and got $0.10 a lb for it. I wish I had seen him before he had made his way over to the scales I would've bought it all off of him. Made me sick!

Got a card? Hand it to him (or whoever), next time.

You might offer to buy it off of the yard, being that they only paid .10 lb for it, and you know roughly what you will get per lb. when you sell, you have what I call a lot of wiggle room for negotiations. You might find they have bought quite a bit of that style of boards, and could make a decent payday for yourself.
I have just signed on two smaller trash companies here in the last month, and I have bought 9 pc's from one of them already. They just put an extra dumpster out back of their complex, and if I'm in the area I check the dumpster to see what they have thrown in. All they were getting was steel price for the computers, so by my buying them, they are tripling their money. Nobody's getting rich, but even a few computer's help out.

That's a great idea! Thanks! I'll definitely look into doing that.
