First Dumpster Route Haul

I am a basement computer repair guy and found this forum trying to find someone to sell my e-waste to. Needless to say, after my first run to my e-scrap yard last week I am hooked! All I can think about is the $$ sitting curbside or in dumpsters.

I decided to spend an hour hitting dumpsters behind cell phone shops, computer shops, any store that sells any electronics (i.e. Radio Shack). Most of them looked like they'd been emptied recently. T-Mobile store must've been upgrading their anti-theft system because I found this stuff in their dumpster:

8 MTI Alarm Modules w/around 40 cord tethers & display trim pcs - $30/set (ebay)
1 TS100 Secure Device Server - $25 (ebay)
2 New/Boxed Cisco Antenna - $15ea (amazon)
25 New/Packaged Belkin 3' Cat5e
Big ball of wire (5-7lbs?)
About 5lbs Aluminum doo-hickeys
5 or so phone chargers

I did a dumpster dive into a industrial safety business, the sort that sells safety gear, shoes, vests, markers, gas detection stuff, earmuffs etc etc.

Wow! They throw stuff out because its 'past the due date' not cause it damaged, although thats another story.
People bring in the damaged stuff & get it replaced with identical gear, then throw the damaged stuff out.

Same with 'out of date stuff'. They stopped making 'this version', so we throw out all the related stuff...

I had to settle on doo-hickey because most of the technical terms I know would be considered offensive in at least 5 languages. I made a quick run last night on the way home from "work" and pulled an IBM 6400 line printer off a 30yarder outside a warehouse. Big bastard...hoping to flip it quick for a couple of dollars to someone that can spruce it up and re-sell it. Saw one "un-tested" on ebay go for 100.00 plus freight...fingers crossed!

eesakiwi: I have my sights on a a few industrial parks in the area. One of the companies on my radar is a company that makes commercial rain gear. I am hoping they have the same discard policy as the place you mentioned!!
