    oops

    was out tearing down somne hard drives and took the back off of one and flipped it over to take off the other side and discovered it was a Hitachi deskstar 500 gig. what to do now I cant find what i did with the back cover.

    The stainless cover is on top and a circuit board is on the bottom, unless it is an external. In that case, if it works, it's worth selling. You might try duct tape,,,lol

    oh so it didnt have a bottom, the circit board is exposed.?

    YEs Circit boards are exposed. Only has one cover and thats the one that covers the platters.
