If i didn't have bad luck id have no luck at all!

Well, if yall don't wanna read a rant, don't read on.

My ole truck has been havin' tranny issues ever since i had this fella rebuild my carb for me. Instead of shiftin' into 2nd at 10 mph like usual, it would at about 28. RPM's WAY higher than they should be. Then to get to 3rd, id have to go about 50 mph, again RPM's wayyy too high.

I had been plannin' on takin it too the tranny shop, so i decided id drop it in while i had a free day.

They looked it over, and called me this mornin'. Hadn't even got out of bed yet, and he tells me "Well, looks like yer tranny is fried." So, that's fantastic. $995, down the drain. Was NOT happy.

Go to take a shower, hop in, ....no water. Told pops, he looked at the bills, turns out when he had his first round of seizures, the water bill didnt get paid. So we skipped a month.

Alright, i can deal with this. Grab his debit card and go to town to pay it. Pops cant go out when it's cold, because the cold air literally takes all his breathe away.

Get down there, tell the lady whats goin on, blah blah blah. Give er the card, ..."I'm sorry sir, the card owner has to be here". Ok, i can deal with that. Tell her that he cant be outside, blah blah blah. "I understand, but that's the rules" Ok...can you talk to him on the phone maybe? I am usin my neighbor to drive me around, and cant afford to give him the gas $ to go to the bank to get money and all that. "No." Fantastic. I said, "Ma'am, i'm just lookin' for someone to be a little human in the situation" Her response and i quote "Well sir, i'm sorry that i dont live up to your expectation of 'human'. Have a nice day."

Blew a tater. Walked out, because i dont yell at women. If it was a guy tellin me that we woulda exchanged words. Anyway...

Fine. Get my ride to go the the bank. Get there, all new staff. "Sir...looks like their is no money in this account" After 1 hour we get everything straightened out. They had transfered my dads money into someone elses account.

Workin' on my 2nd blown tater.

Finally get it paid, the lady tells me "It could take up to 48 hours to get your water turned back on." I politely ask, "Ma'am, is their anyway it could possibly be a bit sooner?" "Sir, i cannot help you. Please step out of my office."

    2nd tater dun BLOWN.

Leave, say to hell with it.

Get home, one of my tv suppliers calls me. In a nutshell, apparently i'm not picking up from them fast enough. And once i told them my truck is down for a week, they told me they're very sorry, but they can't continue using my services anymore.

Light the whole **** tater field on fire.

So i sit in my garage, thinkin' about how much i want to hurt the fella that rebuilt my carb and screwed up my tranny, when Rent A Center calls me, regarding my rented laptop. "Just wanted to let you know we will be at your house in about 30 minutes to pick up our laptop. We charge $30 for this. This is because your account is delinquent"

Screw it, i blew a friggin' idaho.

So, they picked it up, i told em i aint got no $30 for em. They tried to argue with me, i pulled out my wallet and threw a crumpled up $2 bill at the guy, told him "what the FLOCK do you want from me? You have your computer. Get off my property. Have a nice flockin' day"

And here i am, sittin' on my dads laptop. Pissed.

Anybody gotta bottle of Gentleman Jack they wanna fedex to Idaho for me? A can of fresh Copenhagen wouldnt hurt either.

An too imagine, through all that, you managed to find time to blow three taters. I bet the spuds of Idaho are sleeping with tonight!

J/K Hoss hopefully that made you laugh a bit. Sorry you had such a crappy day dude. Tomorrow when you get up, dust off your pants, and keep on truckin. Aint' nothing that can't keep a good ole American country man down!

Like Easy said awhile back; when it rains, it pours. I do know what you mean, as we got "fired" from the local foodbank for not picking up all their TV's they kept throwing outside for someone to clip the cords off of! The origional agreement was that we'd take their tv's if we could get the other good stuff (electronics-computers). Wellll,, the other good stuff never came around and we told them numerous times to quit tossing them (tv's) outdoors. Well I got a phone call awhile back telling me they planned to go another direction. Their filling a large roll-off every few days and I'm sure it's costing them a fortune in trucking. At least I don't have quite as many headaches.
    I feel for ya man,,,

Hard to keep track of all those taters blown.

Sorry to hear about your absolutely crappy day. I can hoist one to ya, but not able to send you one.

Maybe think of moving you and pops somewhere warmer. Don't know if it is an option, but would be nice for pops to be able to get outside. The cold ruined me for the outside as well. My sinuses kicked my ass and made me gag when I hit the cold crisp winter air. So I moved to Florida. ( well and for other reasons) Of course trying to make all new contacts and starting fresh is a tough job for sure. Wifey has family her, otherwise we would have been blind coming down.

Probably not an option, but if you have any family south, it may well be worth a thought.

Just giving you some thoughts. Wishing the best for you and a turn around. Crap rolls down hill and gets bad, but the good stuff comes in bunches eventually as well. Even if it seems that it will never come. Took over 2 years for me, and I am fianlly seeing some actual choices ahead of me that asre both better options.

Your hard work and ethics will come back to help you. It may take time, but it shall.

I don't know if you would get in trouble for it, but you can turn the water back on. I did when my parents got theirs turned off. At least turn it on long enough to get a drink and take a shower.

Well, one good thing DID happen today. A good friend is getting a 4800 sq foot shop for $600 a month. He said i can use half, for $200 a month. So we'll see how that goes.

Just tryin' to ease everything through right now. Honestly trying not too lose my cool with anybody and catch another assault case. Already have 1, don't need another.

Oh, i'm not some 'thug' by the way. Got tired of this guy always messing with me in high school. I graduated, turned 18, he egged my truck. I went to his house and whooped him. Caught a case that way.

Anyway, my old man aint got a fuse at all, and it passed down too me, haha. So i'm just trying to keep myself calm cool and collected. Because i know how i can be.

I'm sure some crap would happen, and we can't afford some crazy fee. As long as its on by tomorrow AM, i'll be fine. I need my hot shower when it's this cold out! Haha.

sounds like a normal good day arround here. . the tranny problem is probably a modual or carb linkage problem. transmission shops are notorius for selling un needed $1000 transmissions. especially the national chains , I used to be a customer rep for an aamco store back in the day. quit after 3 days, couldnt stand the screwing they expected me to give the customers, and the lies.

Kinda sounds like the modulator valve to me, if it is then the connection would be a coincidence.
Or maybe a leak in the vacuum line,,,
    This is compliments of Ask.com
What Is a Transmission Vacuum Modulator Valve?
The transmission vacuum modulator valve determines how much load is on the engine so the transmission can shift properly. It has a vacuum line that connects to the intake and measures the amount of vacuum in the engine.

Speakin' of blown taters. Simplot is closing 3 tater processing plants in Idaho, laying off 800 people.

They are then turning around and building one plant that will take the place of the three plants and hire on 250 people.

My favorite phrase at times was "I just keep putting one foot in front of the other." I made it.
