Dad works at a recycling center mainly for cardboard and paper. But some customers bring them trash for there dumpsters. So my dad told me to come down and pick up all the computers let's just say I filled my 6' bed with computers towers most are dell pentium 3 and 4. Going to pay a visit to boardsort and going to try ebay. If you have any info to give me I would be glad to here it or any buyers.

You will not get rich, motherboards are at about $3.50 a LB, tab boards slightly higher, wire is drop chord price. If you have lots of room go ahead but 6 mo of work will yeild about $350.00.

^^^ many, including myself, will beg to differ Jimmy.

    Unless you can prove otherwise?

P.S Nice haul KC!! keep us posted on the future pick ups

    Here's what i do.

Scrap the cases when I have 100 or more, scrap the wires and power supplies at the same time, but I save all the boards untill I fill a gaylord.

here in Australia, a 386, or 486 cpu sells on ebay for aroud $8 to $10, so I do that too, along with any usable later model video cards, and wireless cards.

I also get about $7 - $10 ech for DVD RW drives on ebay, in unknown condition

    Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I have been searching the net on how post disk drives and hard drive. I think I will sell all the drives in one big lot. And send all the rest of the small stuff to boardsort. Also I scrap out of the back of my truck since I live in a apt.

Young Jimmy is severely undereducated. Take what he says and discard it. Motherboards and RAM are fetching 4 plus dollars a pound. What you need to know is whom to sell to and what to sell them.

Contact Boardsort, Chris is an awesome guy to work with and seriously knows his wares. Case in point, I had a pair of butcher shop scales I got from a clean out last week that were seriously off, he knew the exact weight of my stuff and asked me to reweigh it. He kept me from making mistakes with clients and using those dang junk scales. The man is good. I couldn't ask for better buyers.

Sell boardsort your RAM, Motherboards, and CPU chips. Most everything else computer wise isn't so easy to scrap out without some tools and a good yard near by. You'll find that hard drives have a lot of stainless on them. Save this and take it to the yard. If you can get the logic board off the hard drives, sell them to boardsort. Everything else, right down to the wire and the cd-rom drives you can take apart and scrap out, just take them to the yard though. If you have enough wire from power supplies and crap laying around, contact High Voltage Processing on here. He'll pick stuff up if it's large around quantity. Seriously, the price of boards and processor chips are up a good amount. Not the best I've ever seen, but they're up enough to keep you from complaining.

In regards to shipping stuff out, shipping runs 70-80 cents a pound, so keep it down to circuit boards, processors, and RAM. Your wallet will thank you.

If you need any help, send me a message.

Right now Boardsort is paying $4.35 a lb for M.B.'s and finger cards. Here is just some of the load we delivered to Boardsort, totaled about 800 lbs of weight. We were in and out within an hour with cash in hand.
