    Red face Today's life.

The Florida morning was cold. About 55 degrees. Moved on out to the garage workbench and had a thought. Cell phone boards. Started taking a few apart on the work bench. The screwdrivers were not small enough and the torques bits were too big too. Mr hammer came in handy on the vice. Took apart a few and found the nokias to have nice boards. Saw on ebay someone had about 20 boards and made about 40 dollars. This kept me going while listening to the morning talk shows on FM. Waited for a call about some e- waste sold yesterday. Had to make the call to find the money. Checks in the mail.
Loaded up the pick-up with some insulated #2, extruded and copper wire #2. Made it about 4 miles to the yard and Bling cash in pocket. Driving home figuring my next move. Alone in the sunny distance next to some empty trash day trash cans, I spot a huge bbq Grill, stainless it appears and huge. Did I say it was big? Opened the tailgate and flipped it in using leverage. Bam new plan. Then the man drives buy in his trash truck waving. He tells me of another one a couple of blocks away. His directions were suspect and we bobbed and weaved through a couple of red lights and I found it. It was a big oven stove combo! New plan. I'm a 1/4 mile from home. I procede to take out the brass jets on the grill and cut the wires on the stove. Off to the scrapper I am. Sold! Day over for scrapping. Time to work on boat. Life in the day

    It pays to be flexible.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

    Sounds like a great day.

    55 degrees is not cold!

Eyeglass repair kits at Dollar Tree have tiny flathead and phillips head screwdrivers. Don't know if they are the size you need but I used them on tiny laptop screws.

Harbor Freight has a pretty *****in set of small bit with a driver handle and extension for like six or seven bucks. I use mine ALL THE TIME on cell phones, hard drives, and other random small electronics. It has Torx bits from T4-T15 I think. You can get another set cheaper with less bits, but if its only a few bucks difference, I say get all you can!

Cell phones right now are fetching $6 or better a pound (no batteries). The guy I sell to pays that up front and then may send you more after he is done moving them through his channels as some are desirable for re-use. I stopped tearing down phones for this reason.

I got both of the sets because the big one had TONS of bits but the smaller one had one or two of the torx bits inbetween the sizes the big one had, i use them ALL the time now! I never was able to get the hard drives apart and some of the aluminum motors on VCR's until I got these sets! Well worth the few bucks you spend!!

This post first mentioned cell phone boards.....check out this auction of mine:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/230685947103

Gold fever in full effect! That auction was below $5 until a few hours till the end, then it went nuts! I have the ebay app on my iPhone, and every few minutes I was getting a bid notification. Every time that little chime would go off I did a little dance in my mind, because that there be the sound of $$$!

I have an auction going right now that I hope turns out the same way. I made it a 24 hour auction because I need some quick cash, but hopefully I get activity at the end like the last lot did. Here is the link to today's special:

parrothead, is that price for non-working phones as well? Would you be willing to share his contact information?
