    E- stuff

I have been taking apart my computers . First it's time consuming , & since i don't have a buyer near me that's a big factor, time will tell if I'll be into this .

I can do 20-30 PC's an hour at this point. It all depends on the machine.

Things i always keep in mind when destroying a machine.

    1. I don't have to be gental. SMASH if i have too.
    2. Get a good cordless with a long Philips bit.
    3. Get a good hammer.
    4. SMASH if you have too.

Also when bringing the steel back to the yard. Keep as much plastic on as you can. It's free cash in your pocket.

The best thing for this task is an electric screwdriver with a long bit.
Better yet, get an industrial assembly screwdriver and put it in reverse. Really saves lots of time.

Its all ways worth braking them down for the most part. Just stack it up and get some good weight and you will have a good few items that are 3times more than copper.

The first group of towers I did I spent far too much time messing with them, about 40 of them. I was confused as to which parts to put into the same box. I was dismantling the power supplies. The last trip I tried to sell the power supplies as motors but they were rejected. I may start dismatling them again but my time would be better spent finding more computer. Experience will help you a lot. I love tearing apart computers. I can't wait to see what's in there. Mike.

I feel the same way Mike. My heart rate increases a little when I can finally see inside. And then another charge when you get to the cpu !!

Make sure you have ample airflow, depending on what you are smashing and long term exposure aren't good for you

Another tip is to familiarize yourself with everything new that you see... if you see a new type of chip or a different looking video card or CPU... take 30 seconds and look them up on eBay. You'll be surprised how often you'll find stuff that still has value to someone on eBay way more than scrap value. I bought $70 worth of computers the other day and pulled the CPUs out of about half of them. Scrap value would have been like $4, but I sold the lot for over $50 on ebay.
