Got my first car today to scrap out. 1977 Mercury Cougar XR-7

Well it finaly happened. I got my first car to scrap and now its time to have some fun. I paid $300 for the car and it was only 15 miles from my house. So im in to it about 1 hours time and $10 in fuel.

    Things I plan to remove:
    starter
    alternater
    rads
battery (Brand new purchased 4/2011) I think I can get $50 for this thing.
2 new studded snow tires on the front as well. (try and CL these)
    2 Cats
    intake manifold

Can anyone tell me what the 2 cats on this car are worth? Im hoping alot each since there are 2

Congrats on the car. As far as the cats, first determine they're not aftermarket. Cut them off and look for anything stamped on them.

    Also, weigh them.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Congrats. I know you've been looking for awhile.

Did someone call you, or did you find it?

Pull the carb. Which you'll pull anyways if you're pulling the intake.

Was a CL ad. He had it for $500 sent him an email telling him I would pay $300. He him hawed back and forth. Finaly said I could have it for $300 if he could keep the battery. Said sure but when we loaded up the car on the trailer he didnt take it out . Drove it right up on the trailer too. But when we did it poped a tire cause of the wet ramps caught sidewall on one of the tires and popped it. Should be a good payday none the less. Cant wait to do my first car. ALso posted parts for sale on it on CL and a cougar forum as well.

Nice job, PTS! Glad you finally found one. Don't forget to ebay the little stuff you'd normal ignore like emblems lights and such. Surprising what some things will sell for.
