Gotta love it when people 5 blocks away are giving away free washing machines.

All I had to do was backup to his porch and slide it into the back of the truck. 1 free Kenmore 70 series machine.

if your talking scrap value, it is not 20....maybe for a cheester freezer but not a washer.

What's an old 70's washing machine weigh? I'm thinking 150-200 pounds? .12 a pound for appliances here. And that's not counting if I pull the motor and sell it at .26 a pound, or if the bin is stainless.

Easy money for a short trip!

Good deal. I think your math is pretty close.

Geo I have to ask what the heck is a "cheester freezer" ?

I always wondered how they maintained the crunch.

Geo a small typo? Dude you tossed in a extra R and bought two vowels. Spin again.

My mom actually picked one up this spring at a rummage sale for like $2 bucks. They have been using it out in the garage ever since, as they have the house plumbing all ripped apart right now (diy'ers that start but never finish anything).

I got two real nice ones last year from the same place. Sold both to the same guy.

Had nothing to do with it. He talked about making $20+ of a washer...I simply said, what he had a better chance of making $20+ off of instead, is all.

Seems like his prices are much better than around here, so he probably will get $20+ for the washer, but no change of that here right now.

I thought prices went down nationwide, but apparently not.
