Shame...big pile of pallet racking going to waste at target today

Just happened to be at Target today and saw a roll-off dumpster overflowing with good pallet rack beams, wire shelving, and cantilever shelving. Some of it was beat up but the rest looked new.

After shopping I approached a manager, introduced myself and said my business would hate to see some of those good materials go to waste. We would love to save some pieces and put them to good use.

She said "Honey, we're calling the cops on anyone that gets close...they been buggin' us all day"

I guess they're recycling it themselves...There was some valuable stuff in there!

Most of the large box stores have contracts and things for most of that stuff. It's like Walmart - they ship all of the shelving, carts, etc. to a distribution point. They then sell the stuff off in lots at auction. I know as I purchased a few lots of steel shelving that I use in my sheds, and a large folding ladder we use to get on the roof and things. Not sure what Target does with the stuff.

Yeah, that usually means they're getting a discount on the roll-off service for the stuff inside.
Course many times I doubt it when there's cardboard and trash mixed in.

For me, Today I noticed a few thousand pounds store displays where I last picked up and the manager told me to check back...
I parked, started loading and an aboriginal looking hispanic guy pulled up and goes "Que Pasa?? esto es MIO!"
(WTF???) No English, I speak spanish so I told him a week ago she told ME to pick up...no matter he proceeded to load about 2000 lb.s of it while my stupid little truck can't hold much.

MAN that ticks me off...I am seriously going to start beating other scrappers with my hammer, or a bat, or piece of steel.
NUTSOs a bunch of 'em too.
I was carying Mace (tear gas last week) to avoid lethal force, but I lost it last week.
How the heck does one see somebody working scrap already and just roll up like they're a "punk" ....it's really beginning to test me, my nerve here.

Sounds like lady from OP deserves somebody to dump a bunch of matresses and old sofas etc. on her dumpster!!!!
