Men and my buddy got it without damaging the house. It's 6 ft long. It was heavy and couldnt stand it up on end next time I have a job like this I will get a rolling dolly to put under it.I can't strip it because I have no place to because I live in a apt and really don't want to unload it. On that note the same people have 2 old steal pool pumps got to get a torch to cut them up. Will try and get pics when I get this job.

I would charge for a job like this, and $25 is about the price I was thinking.

I would also make have your client sign some kind of waver, pretty much protecting you from any damages. Do you have liability insurance, if not get some if you plan on doing many of these types of jobs it will come in usefull, trust me.

I have to pick up an old furnace out of a basement with a trapdoor access. Oh... Did I say it's not a regular furnace? It was originally an oil burner that was converted about 40-50 years ago to run off natural gas. It's probably twice as big as the chest freezer and doesn't look all to easy to dis-assemble.

Have fun with the freezer. My favorite was getting one out of a church basement. Probably a 1950's - 1960's era. Stand up unit. Don't have a guess as to the weight. Strapped it to the dolly. One hand on the dolly strap, one hand on the stair rail, one step at a time. Two flights of stairs up and another down heading out of the church. Still using that freezer today ten years later. Oh yeah.. I actually delivered the freezer to the church a few years before. Funny how there is never anyone around to help when there's heavy lifting to do.

Would take quite a few appliances to pay for that stair climbing hand truck above.

Holy crap....try calling one of the distributors from the manufacturers website. Might get it a little cheaper.

I have noticed some ideas on ebay selling for more than what you can buy at local retailers. Just saying.

I looked on the mfg website. Didn't see a price. Figured if ebay had it it would be a ballpark range of what they sell for. Just had no idea they wanted $6,500 for a hand truck. Ridiculous.

I guess that's the price some firms will pay for not getting sued.

I went to their website before I figured out what made it worth so much - it's motorized with a braking system.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

O.K. here is how I used to them solo. I had 38" long 2" diameter pipe wrapped in thick pipe insulation(the heavy foam type), this was the brace between the door frame (remove door if necessary). Then I would get the unit heavy end up and gently lean it on the stairs smooth side down. Ratchet straps to hold doors on and provide an anchor point for the come along. I had a special roll of commercial carpeting that protected the stairs and gave it a nice slippery surface. Then I crank it up to the top step, and since the heavy end is towards me a good jerk gets it onto the floor. This is definitely an "upcharge" service and sign a hold harmless agreement with the invoice.

The compressor probably weighs 20Lb, the lid of the fridge weighs about 10-15, theres 35Lb that can be removed from it right away.

Thats probably not going to help much now, but its a idea.

Hell, I lifted a washing machine up a flight of stairs, one of the ones that have a cement block inside it.
When I connected it up, I found the thing was 1/3 full of water....
