    The Dental Laser

For about 5 months we have been sitting on a machine that we picked up at a medical supply company. They told us it was a laser of some sort and the darn thing was super heavy.

We left it sit in the shop for quite a while, having been busy with other items and today I had some free time so I took a tool box and gave it a go. I am certainly glad that I did.

The first thing that I noticed was that the entire structure was made out of aluminum....Not bad....Once I got it opened up (which was no easy task) I found the first of 17 telecom grade boards.

I just kept taking random screws and bolts out and finding more and more as parts would fall off (every once in a while one would hit my foot, thank the Lord for steel toe boots.)

After 2 hours I had it finished.

    Totals:

    17 telecom boards (15 1/2 pounds worth)
    4 pounds of heavy wire
    5 super sized transformers
4 pounds of copper connection plates
2 copper aluminum radiators (5 pounds each)
    68 gold window IC chips
    54 pounds of mixed aluminum

Been kicking myself for sitting on that unit for so long ever since I saw the boards that came out of it. It was a tough nut to crack but it had a lot of meat inside.

So if someone offers you a dental laser machine I would certainly suggest that you accept it and tear into it right away.
