    Did i miss something ?

to give a little background my father in law is a chef and he works for an older lady who owns the restaurant. one day they needed some extra help at the restaurant so i said i had a little experiance so i worked for a few days. after she tells me my father in law told her i scrapped metal and she owned a house that was falling apart and needed to be cleaned out to be sold and to go and take whatever i wanted from the house. turns out the house was literally 3 blocks from my house. but it has been abandoned for a while so she told me there might be homeless and drug addicts in the house. so me and my brother in law set a date to go ( i packed my 9 mm just in case anyone was in there) turns out noone was in there i pulled out about 50 pounds of insulated wire cast iron boiler an oil tank some aluminum doors brass door knobs a bunch of stainless steel pots and pans and even found 17 dollars in change in the bedroom we only worked for a few hours and im thinking we made out with somewhere close to 250 dollars, but now my question would there have been anything in an old house that you guys wouldve went after that i didnt mention above ?

...but now my question would there have been anything in an old house that you guys wouldve went after that i didnt mention above ?
I ran out of gas, close to the gas station and found an abandon house.
It was quiet there , so I drank a 40oz. beer in front.
Started wondering IF possibly my mom could buy it and I could fix it up (nice property)...

Some stupid reason I walked through to see the condition.
I'd NEVER gut the pipes from it cuase it's somebody's
BUT I picked ALL scrappable items from the "Yard" (overgrown) in front once I got my gas.
...Went by a second time, but I stepped on a rusty nail that went through my boot, and besides I think the place might be haunted...the ghosts like me tho' since I'm Christian basically!

Good luck, gotta go for now
    :cool
Back to work (been fun break )

You were paid back for taking the scrap from the property without permission. That's not good scrapper ethics, much less "basic Christian" behavior. Just my .02.

No crap! Scrappers that steal give the rest of us scrappers a bad name. Christians that steal give the rest of us Christians a bad name.

Were you allowed to take things like ceiling fans or the faucets. You might ask your dad to ask her about things like that. Was there a basement or garage? I would find out if she expects it to be torn down and how much she expects to get out of it. If she just wants it gone and doesn't care how much she gets then she might let you strip it completely.

Sorry someone had to poop on your thread gamedayron. Cleaned up and the perpetrator has been temporarily banned.

I would get back with the owner and see if you can do some hard demolition in there if it is going to be torn down anyway. Hope you get it.

Hell I was harassed by the same cops in the same town 5 mins from house for a week. Everytime was bs reason like non working taillight. Every time they would immediately investigate the back of the truck without my consent. Finally I told them I would file a lawsuit for illegal search and seizure plus harrasment and they better get a bloody warrant. Finally they said well we have reports of people stealing, blah blah. I asked him do you got a pen and paper? Here is a list of addresses of people I bought from or cleaned their property for free....etc. After 20 names, he said have a good night and they left me alone..lol.. Havnt been pulled over in a long ass time....

Just a note there is a huge demand for antique architectural goods, i.e. old brass door knobs, hinges, heat duct plates. I have sold door knobs to people restoring old houses for $20 a piece. They want originals not the remakes at home depot.
