Falling hard for copper-- $10,000 bail

News story from Press of Atlantic City:

An Ocean County man was rescued Thursday morning after he fell down an interior shaft at the vacant Atlantic City Electric building in Egg Harbor Township.
Township police said they went to the building, located near the intersection of Fire Road and the Black Horse Pike in the Farmington section of the township, a little before 1 a.m. When they arrived, Oliver Leadbetter, 21, and Johnathan Leadbetter, 20, both of Tuckerton, led them to their brother, who had fallen down the shaft.
Police said William Leadbetter, 34, suffered serious injuries.
The Leadbetters were there stealing copper pipes when the fall occurred, police said.
William Leadbetter was removed from the shaft by the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department, the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad, AtlantiCare paramedics and the Air National Guard, police said.
He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City. His condition was not available Thursday night.
Following the rescue, Oliver and Johnathan Leadbetter were charged with burglary, criminal trespass and conspiracy. Bail was set at $10,000 cash each by Municipal Court Judge H. Robert Switzer.

You be surprised on what people do now a days for $1.

My clients (old and new) will periodically tell me of vandalism's in the neighborhood. They unfortunately, give the honest guys (whether we own a business or not) a bad reputation in the industry to where no one wants to trust us no more.

That is why, even if my clients have me automatically set to come out on a certain day and time, I always call them when I arrive, and again when I am leaving. This way they know EXACTLY when I am there.

all the laws in the world will not stop this from happening. but that will not stop the politicians from creating more laws.

it is possible they assessed their options and found this to be a gray area.

perhaps they were just trying to feed their children and pay the mortgage.

it's only illegal if you get caught, right?

That's pretty good lol. Considering Tuckerton is about a half hour to 40 minutes away from EHT. I know exactly where that is. At least he went to the worst of the 2 hospitals. The one he went to is better for gunshot wounds than anything else. Bad things happen when idiots act like idiots, so karma does come around one way or another.

I thought you misspelled the title and we're talking about a $10,000 bale of copper LOL...

My electrician friend was telling me about a factory that got hit by thieves - they opened all 7 rooftop ac units and gutted the good pieces, all without disconnecting the 480V power supply. They got away clean.
