as i see copper go up i feel happy , but i am waiting for the yard to respond yesterday i got 2.37 for #2 , I feel they should bump it up a notch already.
Any way I can tell them (ask) kinda demand it ?

Being able to negotiate depends on your volume of commodity and frequency of using that yard. A regular seller coming in with 1,000 pounds of #1 copper could likely get a few cents more than the posted price.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

It's possible that the yard has not fulfilled a contract previous to the dramatic price increase? When a yard locks its price with a broker, the yard has to hedge how much material he's selling to the broker before he's locked in. Then it becomes a contract. Depending on yard size, typical lot size is 44,000 lbs(semi load) for a decent yard. Thats my hypothesis, a possible variable to the problem your having. Where are you located?

we actually asked our yard for a increase and got itwe got 78cents for alum wheels instead of 70, and the extinguishers we are cashing in are getting 58 instead of 50(old cast alum) like their price sheet shows. we run into very little copper so im not sure about the prices. i just asked the lady at the pay window, she give me the yard managers ext i called it and talked to him. he pulled up o tn the computer all the transactions we had made and said no problem(super nice guy we even bs a little). i just goto the pay window before they start weighing so she can put the higher numbers in. if you make several loads a week and they can pull up your file to verify it you might as well ask, they can say yes or no, but if you dont ask they wont do it for sure.
I was just at the yard today i got 3.10 for #2 and 3.20 for #1 i thought it was pretty good

we are really getting taken up north thats all there is to it prices are 2.35 to 2.60
the yards are getting rich on copper here.
simple math shows huge profits to be made with a simple 200 mile drive and trailer full of copper. Wow if i purchased copper @ 2.70 to go higher then local yards.
1000 LB would be a profit of $700 even with gas and tolls $500 profit , any one wanna lend me $2700 @ $200 interest - still leaving me $300 for the day
