    Make sure the screws holding the face plate onto the head (the casting around the shaft) don't come loose.
    Take the screws out one at a time and dip the end in Locktite and put them back in. I don't think they'll come loose on you any more. My whole go-kart motor was put together with Locktite and that McCullough would turn 12,000-15,000 rpm.
