Hoarding

I spent the last couple days helping out a family that had a very unfortunate circumstance. It was about half acre of what you might call hoarding. There were 15 vehicles, boats, RVs, lawn equipment... six portable one car garages stacked 6' high with boxes full of you name it. It was kind of like a Sears or Kmart all out in the front yard. With time constraints they held a moving sale and placed an ad on Clist. Allot of folks showed up and we loaded trucks and started digging out cars and then it started to rain and the tents started leaking. There was a ton of scrap that left in the first couple hours and we started building a scrap pile. My first experience with hoarding that looks like a serious mental illness and then my neighbor tells me about a ten acre place in Eastern Washington that's covered with junkers his kid's been hauling out of.

Holy.....

Dated the daughter of a hoarder once - (it was so bad children's services took the daughter away at a young age, and she later rejoined with her mom). Truly incredible how someone can progress from simply being messy/disorganized to a full blown health hazard.

The psychology of it is amazing. One of the reasons I broke up with the girl was that I was afraid hoarding might be genetic (that and she cheated on me LOL)

Maybe she was starting by hoarding boyfriends? ;-)

I have seen hoarding a few time, hard to understand why people are like that. I can't stand clutter!!

Unless it is scrap junk in my garage =)

Clearly if one lives not around people . and you don't mind looking at wacky garbage .
It really is inventory. The whole key is to not to go to negative that you start selling off your inventory and can't find enough to replace it .I know of a guy who collected 1000 cars on his land sure it looked like a junk house & he was a hoarder , But in reality he became rich as cars hit $500 & up , he also had hot cars from the 60's rusty but he had them 4 bolt 350 454 . and more.
